ROLE SUMMARY:

As a Manufacturing Technical Instructor you'll be responsible for skills-based instruction during a 4-week summer camp program to support the learning of student participants which takes place July 15th through August 9th. The Instructor will develop the daily training plan and teach students hands-on skills including but not limited to: power and hand tool operation; welding; electrical wiring; blueprint reading; and measuring.  The Instructor will help students gain knowledge, exposure, and awareness of the manufacturing industry in a hands-on learning environment. Instructors will guide students to build and complete a final project to demonstrate their skill development.  If you're passionate about empowering others and driving positive change, this role is for you!

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TECHNICAL INSTRUCTOR CAN LOOK LIKE:

  • Maintaining a safe worksite and enforcing safety standards.
  • Selecting instructional materials and guiding various hands-on activities.
  • Developing a positive relationship with students and parents.
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and communicating student progress.
  • Managing student behavior and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Accompanying students on weekly field trips to manufacturing companies and ensuring they follow each company's safety guidelines.
  • Communicating with guardians/parents regarding the progress of students as needed.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 1 year of experience working as a technical education instructor.  
  • At least 2 years of occupational experience in a technical trade.  
  • Experience working as a technical education instructor in a hands-on technical trade along with directly related occupational experience.  
  • Experience working with teens with disabilities highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


LOCATION: St. Charles, Missouri
SCHEDULE: July 15th - August 9th (Monday - Friday: 7:30am - 12:30pm)
