Job Summary:
The Social Services Benefits Case Manager will assist St. Louis County people with disabilities to understand public benefits (Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare) and how these can change. This professional will be responsible for building and serving a caseload of clients. During training months, the Social Services Benefits Case Manager, will train/work at an office located at Boone Center, Inc, of St Peters, MO. Following training, the permanent office will be located in the Productive Living Board campus at: 121 Hunter Avenue, Suite 200, St. Louis, MO 63124.
Duties:
Provides individualized work incentive planning and assistance services and analyzes the impact of specific work situations on the individual’s benefits, entitlement, subsidies and services.
Maintains up to date working knowledge of public benefit programs, especially Medicaid and Social Security.
Interpret complex policy, rules, procedures, administrative code and legislative language and produce practical and understandable information.
Able to identify and cultivate “expert” resources to help with complex problems or issues.
In collaboration with the Benefits Case Manager, develop and refine overall policies and procedures for the department
Provides monitoring of benefits and other applicable on-going assistance as needed.
Works collaboratively with community partners in the area to establish and maintain good working relationships through outreach and training opportunities. Networks with adult service providers, families, and the disability community. Represents BCI throughout the community, including other counties.
Perform other related duties as directed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree Required; Masters preferred. Preference of education in vocational rehabilitation, human services, business management or related degree.
Work Incentive Practitioner Credential (WIP-C) certification preferred. Non-certified candidates may be considered but must earn the certification within first 6-months of employment. *BCI covers the cost of this Certification.
Thorough knowledge of Medicaid and Social Security.
Knowledge of social service agencies and resources in the community is preferred.
Knowledge of Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors, Support Coordinators, and Case Managers is preferred.
Excellent leadership skills.
Self-starter, self-motivator, and able to work with very little oversight.
Excellent communication and networking skills.
Excellent presentation skills.
Effective writing and interpersonal skills.
Experience:
Minimum two years experience in social services with preference of 1 year experience working with public benefits.
Experience working with government benefits.
Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills.

Salary: $55,000 with benefits
Hours: Monday - Friday Full Time
