Job Summary:
The Industrial Machine Technician is responsible for coordinating and/or completing day-to-day activities, involving preventive and emergency maintenance of the building/facility, machinery and equipment; and adhering to safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy and accident-free work environment.

Duties:
  • Schedule, perform and document preventive maintenance on production machinery and building/facility equipment.
  • Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.
  • Install, move or remove production machinery and building/facility equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production machinery and building/facility equipment.
  • Oversee or perform the completion of all building and grounds maintenance, including routine, landscape maintenance, snow and ice removal, interior and exterior lighting and signage maintenance.
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, paint, carpentry and forklift repairs.
  • Develop standard set-up procedures for production lines.
  • Design and build production assist devices as required to improve productivity.
  • Maintain a well-organized tools, replacement parts, repair items and equipment inventory.
  • Assist with all maintenance related contract services, such as HVAC, trash, landscape, snow removal, exterminator, etc. and maintain the company vehicles.
  • Ensure safety policies and procedures are in compliance with local, state and federal OSHA rules and regulations and stay abreast of updated regulations.
  • Assist in determining corrective or preventive measures to prevent potential accident and health hazards.
  • Assist in the cleanup and disposal of contaminated substances in the facility.
  • Actively participate on Safety Committee.
  • Comply with all SQF procedures and policies and is responsible to report food safety problems.
  • Use cell phone frequently for communication and performing job duties (reimbursed expense as approved).
  • Follow all policies and procedures established by the Corporation.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the Operations & Facility Manager.

Qualifications: 
  • Associate's degree in manufacturing technology, Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s license required.
Experience:
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in machine, equipment, and facilities maintenance and troubleshooting or related experience required.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:  The work environment characteristics may vary.  The following are representative characteristics an employee can encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is regularly exposed to a combination of office, outside and shop environments and regularly exposed to dusts, odors, oil, fumes and noise.   The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

STATUS: Full Time with benefits - 28-30$ an hour
HOURS: 7AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday - Rotating throughout the week between our two facilities,
St. Peters and Moscow Mills.
